Verizon customers exposed in massive U.S. data breach (Reuters)
NEW YORK (Reuters) – Customers of Verizon Communications had their telecommunicate addresses unclothed in a massive online accumulation severance terminal week, according to an telecommunicate to customers obtained by Reuters.
In what could be digit of the large much attacks in U.S. history, a computer coder penetrated the online marketer Epsilon, which controls the client telecommunicate databases for a panoptic track of companies.
Customers of about 50 companies, from banks to retailers and hotels, had their names or telecommunicate addresses unclothed in the attack.
Verizon, the largest U.S. mobile ring carrier, informed customers on weekday that it was conception of the Epsilon accumulation breach.
"Epsilon has assured us that the aggregation unclothed was limited to telecommunicate addresses, and that no other aggregation about you or your statement was exposed," Verizon said in an telecommunicate to a client sent on weekday evening.
The company did not directly move to requests for comment.
