Nokia unveils 2 smartphones, Symbian refresh (Reuters)

HELSINKI (Reuters) – Nokia, the world's largest phone concern by volume, undraped on Tuesday two newborn smartphone models streaming on a newborn edition of its Symbian code platform.

The newborn models, the E6 and the X7, will go on understanding for 340 euros ($491.6) and 380 euros respectively excluding subsidies and taxes, later this quarter.

In February, Nokia's newborn honcho executive author Elop dumped Symbian code -- which lost most of its advance on the smartphone mart terminal assemblage -- saying the consort would instead use Microsoft Corp's unproven code as its primary platform.

Elop compared Symbian to a executing papers in a widely leaked internal memo, saying it was not beatific sufficiency for Nokia's future.

On Tuesday Nokia undraped a newborn edition of Symbian software, with newborn icons, reinforced text input, faster Internet browsing and a refreshed Ovi Maps application.
