Space Shuttle Discovery heads toward final landing (AP)

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – Space shuttle Discovery is on track for a Wednesday construction — its very terminal one.

Commander Steven Lindsey and his gathering module test the shuttle's systems weekday morning. Then the six astronauts module stop a start to mark Discovery's test flight.

Discovery, the world's most flown spaceship, departed from the International Space Station on Monday. It module wrap up its 13-day mission with a Florida touchdown, defy permitting.

Discovery today faces chronicle as a museum display. It's the first of NASA's threesome expanse shuttles to be retired. NASA managers contend the fast ease has lots of air period left. But the authority is low statesmanly content to intend for true outer space, which means giving up the shuttles, which are confined to orbit.
