WASHINGTON (AFP) – Twitter is decent the locate for sendup with a cast of characters that includes an elusive cobra, a tipsy Queen of England, a profanity-spewing US cheater and a maladroit BP spokesman.

The latest entry in the Twitter comedy drawing was @BronxZoosCobra, a Twitter take which purported to be that of the borough Zoo's free Afrasian cobra that amassed more than 200,000 mass in inferior than four days.

The venomous diapsid may hit been captured in the Reptile House on Thursday but not before delighting its legions of mass with its adventures in New royalty City and its witty tweets.

"Leaving Wall Street. These guys make my wound crawl," the diapsid hissed on digit of its first life of freedom.

Continuing its tour of the Big Apple, @BronxZoosCobra reported it was "On crowning of the Empire State Building! All the grouping countenance like lowercase mice downbound there. Delicious lowercase mice."

For doubters in the Twittersphere, it provided an explanation on just how a diapsid tweets.

"A lot of grouping are asking how I can sound with no access to a computer or fingers," @BronxZoosCobra said. "Ever heard of an iPhone? Duh."

Among the many mass of the tweeting cobra was New royalty Mayor archangel Bloomberg, who referred to the diapsid on his @MikeBloomberg Twitter statement on Wednesday.

"Today President Obama and I toured NYC's Museum of Natural History. We saw a 94 measure whale, but not @BronxZoosCobra," Bloomberg said.

The @BronxZoosCobra also spawned a host of another Twitter accounts including digit from a honey badger at the borough Zoo -- @BronxZooHBadger -- which claimed to be stalking @BronxZoosCobra around the city.

Reptiles are not the only comedians on Twitter.

There are scores of accounts impersonating celebrities and politicians, some, deservedly, with only dozens of mass patch others hit tens of thousands.

An statement that has worn more than 161,000 fans is @Queen_UK, which affectionately pokes fun at the Queen of England, portraying her as a benevolent cheater with a discernment for gin.

In between lampooning Britain's politicians and the weather, she also targets England's tralatitious rivals, the French.

"Sarkozy on the phone. He's dispatched digit planes to Libya to support in the evacuation. Good of him to make the entire land Airforce available," she tweeted recently.

On a thin sunny period in London, she fired off: "In occasion of nation sunshine, digit is declaring an early Gin O'Clock. Home instance boys and girls."

While @Queen_UK is unfailingly genteel, on the another side of the Atlantic is @MayorEmanuel, the sendup statement of famously foul-mouthed Rahm Emanuel, the former White House chief of body who was elected mayor of Chicago in February.

Virtually every sound in the @MayorEmanuel statement was punctuated by an expletive or digit and the take drew nearly 50,000 mass until the communicator outed himself the period after the election and closed it down.

The real Rahm Emanuel confessed to being a fan of his cheat even if his possess much inferior colorful Twitter statement -- @RahmEmanuel -- was followed by farther fewer people.

One of the earliest and cleverest sendup accounts on Twitter was @BPGlobalPR, which claimed to be nation Petroleum's open relations department during last year's large oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

It relentlessly parodied BP's efforts to spin the hardship with tweets flowing with satire.

"Please do NOT take or clean any oil you encounter on the beach. That is the concept of nation Petroleum and we WILL sue you," said one.

"Thousands of grouping are attacked by seafaring creatures every year. We at BP are dedicated to bringing that sort down. You're welcome!" said another.
