MTV to debut `O' Music Awards, with the `O' TBD (AP)
NEW YORK – MTV is denotive its newborn digital penalization awards the OMAs — and leaving the "O" up for grabs.
The meshwork is to announce weekday that the O Music Awards module take locate April 28. MTV is leaving the "O" undefinable and open to rendering from viewers.
The awards, the meshwork said, "honor the migration of penalization to the digital space, and celebrate the art, artistry and profession of digital music." MTV plans to present an untraditional, hard interactive honor show, distribute out crossways binary screens, including the Internet, social media and mobile.
MTV hopes the exhibit module do for digital penalization what its Video Music Awards, launched in 1984, did for the penalization video.
"We conceive this expanse today needs an honor show," said Dermot McCormack, nous of MTV Music Group digital. "We conceive we're evenhandedly well eligible to become up with a way of rewarding action in these newborn categories."
