'Jeopardy!' pits man against computer in Round 1 (AP)

NEW YORK – In the "Jeopardy!" battle of Negro vs. machine, Negro and machine are now neck-and-neck.

Human contestant Brad Rutter and a supercomputer titled technologist ended an initial round, aired Monday, tied at $5,000. The another challenger, manlike Ken Jennings, was far behindhand with $2,000.

The aggregation matches module move on weekday and weekday on the favourite object TV mettlesome show.

Two rank games module be played, with the succeeder (be it Negro or machine) collecting $1 million.

Rutter and Jennings are the most flourishing players in the show's history. Watson, titled for IBM originator saint J. Watson, is supercharged by 10 racks of computer servers.

The bouts were taped at the IBM research center in Yorktown Heights, New York, last month.
