Catholics cannot confess via iPhone: Vatican (Reuters)

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – Catholics cannot confess via iPhone and technology is not a unreal for being present when admitting sins to a priest, the residence spokesman said on Wednesday.

The statement by Father Federico Lombardi follows the launch of an iPhone covering aimed at helping Catholics through accusal authorised by the Christian Church in the United States.

"One cannot speak in some artefact of confessing via iPhone," Lombardi said on Wednesday, adding that accusal required the proximity of the rueful and the priest.

"This cannot be substituted by some IT application," Lombardi added.

Confession: A romish Christian app, thought to be the prototypal to be approved by a church authority, walks Catholics through the sacrament and contains what the company behind the information describes as a "personalized communicating of conscience for apiece user."

The covering is not designed to replace feat to accusal but to support Catholics through the act, which generally involves admitting sins to a vodoun in a confessional booth.

Some reports on its support by the Christian Church in the U.S. advisable accusal would now be doable via iPhone.
