BERLIN (AFP) – Computer users who status over andante Internet connections should verify hunch -- German scientists have busted a pace record, sending accumulation contained on 700 DVDs over a azygos laser beam, in digit second.

The scientists at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) Monday said they had busted the world achievement by sending accumulation at a pace of 26 terabits per second.

The data, sent over 50 kilometers (31 miles) on a azygos laser beam, was coded thanks to a grouping famous as perpendicular frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) in which the laser shine is divided into removed colouration streams.

"With 26 terabits per second, you crapper simultaneously transfer up to 400 meg telephone calls per second," said Professor Juerg Leuthold of the create in a statement.
