Sprint adds 1.1M subscribers, narrows 1Q loss (AP)

NEW YORK – Sprint Nextel says it additional more wireless subscribers in the prototypal quarter than it has in fivesome years, mainly on affordable service plans while it forfeited customers to Verizon's iPhone.

The country's No. 3 wireless traveler on weekday said it additional a gain 1.1 meg subscribers in the January to March period. However, it forfeited 114,000 subscribers on contract-based plans, which are the most lucrative.
